Task
A gas condensate well experienced declining reservoir pressure and increasing water production. Although the well could initially be unloaded, it was unable to sustain natural flow and repeatedly died after short production periods. High flowline pressure in the surface gathering system exceeded the well’s available wellhead pressure, preventing stable production and forcing repeated shutdowns. The operator required a practical solution capable of lowering wellhead pressure and sustaining production without modifying surface facilities or performing complex downhole interventions and workover operations.
Solution
AB Smart Services deployed the BoostFlow multiphase pumping package, a surface-based system designed to reduce wellhead pressure and transfer multiphase fluids directly to the production line. The unit was rapidly mobilised and connected to the wellhead, enabling continuous boosting of the produced gas, condensate and water mixture.
By providing additional pressure drawdown at the wellhead, BoostFlow reduced wellhead pressure below the flowline pressure, allowing the well to overcome gathering-system back-pressure and operate under improved flowing conditions.
Result
The deployment restored and sustained production from the gas condensate well, improved well uptime and delivered immediate production gains without complex interventions:
- Wellhead pressure reduced up to 200 psi below flowline pressure
- Stable production achieved from a well that previously could not sustain flow
- Elimination of repeated well shutdowns
- Rapid deployment without downhole intervention
Continuous surface boosting allows operators to sustain production from declining wells in a simple, efficient and cost-effective way.
